Sajib Murder
Withdraw case or die, father threatened


Ill-fated father of a primary school student, Sajib,8, who was allegedly murdered by a group of criminals at Bahera village in Debhata upazila on August 20 in 2002 received threats to withdraw the murder case or 'face death'.

Alaul Islam, brother of two charge-sheeted accused, Moina and Bhutto, identifying himself a member of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), threatened to kill Sajib's father Prof Manirul Islam for non-compliance. Alaul came to his village home after three years, local people said. .

According to court sources, November 14 has been fixed as next date of the trial.
