Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Hazi Kamal, also Jubo Dal general secretary of Ward No-66, from his residence at Rajani Bose Lane at Lalbag in the city in the morning.

The traders brought out a procession hailing his arrest.

They said they are now passing their days in panic as a strong lobby has been going on for his bail.

If he gets bail he and his accomplices would take revenge on the traders for bringing out the procession, they added.

Kamrul Islam, sub-inspector of Rab, filed a case against Hazi Kamal with Lalbag police.

Lalbag police produced him before the court seeking 10 days' remand in arms and robbery cases.
