Top Italian coach dies


The former coach of Tunisia, Italian Franco Scoglio, died from a heart-attack while taking part in a live television show in Genoa on Monday.

The 64-year-old Scoglio collapsed from his chair while being interviewed by the Primocanale local sports channel.

He had been in charged of the Genoa football club and took them into the Italian first division in 1988 before taking over as the coach of the Tunisian national side from 1998 until 2001.

He was briefly in charge of Libya after that but switched to become a television commentator.

Scoglio had been considering a return to coaching and it was believed he had been in touch with Algeria and Senegal.
