Rab holds two with diamond

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered a diamond weighing 57.75gm and arrested two people in this regard at Sherpur in Bogra yesterday.The Rab members, in disguise of diamond buyers, went to the Adarsha Sanchoi Office near Sherpur Bus Stand to purchase the diamond from Manik Devnath and Akhtar. The Rab members revealed their identities and arrested the two after getting the diamond in their possession. A Rab member, requesting anonymity, said Rab had been talking to Manik and Akhtar for 20 days to trap them. The diamond was sent to Dhaka for examination along with the two arrestees. The arrestees asked Tk 300 crore for the diamond to the Rab members but the actual price of the diamond could not be known.
