Judges' body for judicial probe

The Bangladesh Judicial Service Association (BJSA) yesterday urged the government to conduct judicial probe into Monday's bomb attacks in courtrooms of three districts.The association at an urgent general meeting at the Dhaka Judges' Conference Room expressed deep concern over the "heinous and cowardice" attacks in Chittagong, Laxmipur and Chandpur and demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits, says a press release. The meeting presided over by BJSA President and Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said the targets of the attackers were the judges and the courts, as learnt from the leaflets. Secretary General of BJSA Judge Mohammad Rezaul Karim Khan of the Special Court for Dhaka division also urged the government for tightening security for judges and courts. Meanwhile, additional forces, including Rapid Action Battalion, were deployed inside and outside all court premises in the country.
