Indecent Behaviour by Teacher
JU students continue agitation


Braving inclement weather hundreds of general students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday staged a demonstration on the campus demanding immediate removal of a teacher of the Department of Business and Administration (DBA) for his alleged indecent behaviour with the girl students.

The students irrespective of party affiliation brought out processions from all dormitories chanting slogans against the teacher. They gathered in front of the Amar Ekushey, a sculpture, in processions from different halls, faculties. The activists of Jahangirnagar Sangskritik Jote and Progotishil Chhatra Jote also expressed solidarity with the students. The procession paraded the campus.

Later, the students under the banner of 'Students Against Harassment' held a rally on the Social Science Faculty premises. The speakers at the rally said tougher programmes will be announced if their demand is not met by tomorrow (Tuesday).

Shomogeet, Gayen and Dhwani also organised different programmes, including song and recitation in support of the movement.

The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of the ruling BNP, also brought out a procession on the campus to press the demand.
