Traffic month inaugurated


State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar formally inaugurated the `Traffic Month-2005' yesterday.

Later, he led a colourful procession at about 10:00am from the city's Muktangon area.

Sources at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic wing said the aim of the traffic month is to ensure safe and systematic trafficking system for the city dwellers.

Home Secretary Safar Raj, Inspector General of Police (IGP) MA Qayyum and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mizanur Rahman took part in the procession, also joined by the transport owners and workers, community police, traffic police, Girls Guide and Boy Scouts.
