Rubel Rana improved on his South Asian Federation (SAF) Games timing in the 50m backstroke on the second day of the Keya Cosmetic 21st National Swimming Championship at the National Swimming Complex in Mirpur yesterday.

The Bangladesh Navy swimmer, who had won the gold medals in 400m freestyle and 400m individual medley on Saturday, clinched the men's 50m backstroke title with a record timing of 28.52 secs to better the SAF mark of 28.89 secs.
