Manik set for MSC job

Coach Shafiqul Islam Manik is set to accept a more demanding job from Mohammedan Sporting Club three months into his unceremonious exit from Muktijoddha.

The former national defender, who was fired by Muktijoddha during the Premier League, has recently been linked to the popular Black and Whites for the National League.

"Mohammedan officials have offered me to take over the job and the talk is in an advance stage for a one year contract," said Manik.

Mohammedan's additional general secretary Mostakur Rahman also confirmed that they were set to sign Manik before the start of the National League's final round in November.

A success-starved Mohammedan has been desperately looking for a coach after Kazi Jasimuddin quit the job following Mohammedan's heart-breaking 1-0 defeat in the Premier League championship deciding play-off match against Brothers Union last month.
