The Trust organised the representatives' meeting at the Women's Voluntary Association (WVA) auditorium in the city on the occasion the 10th anniversary of its library movement. It has set up about 65 libraries across the country with a view to projecting the true history of the country and preserving the memories of the freedom fighters. They said that they were facing strong resistance from the anti-liberation forces in their areas. The library movement is essential to awaken the inner power of the people and establish people's rights, said eminent journalist Wahidul Haque, who presided over the programme. "Library is a place of learning. If we inculcate a reading habit in the young generation, they will preserve the true history of the liberation war, which has been distorted many times," he said. Qazi Mukul, Lt. Col. (retd.) Abu Osman Chowdhury, architect Rabiul Hussain, Pradip Dewanji and Salma Haque, wife of a martyr, also spoke.
