Mobile courts realise Tk 6.47 lakh in fines, file 218 cases in Aug
BSTI mobile courts in special drives filed 218 cases and fined Tk 6,47,800 against petrol pumps for weight manipulation in the capital and other 15 districts in the last month, says a BSTI press release. The mobile courts of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) charged the petrol pump and shops of fish, meat, sweetmeats, jewellery and hardware in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Manikganj, Rajbari, Narsingdi, Gopalganj, Munshiganj, Kishorganj, Jamalpur, Madaripur, Gazipur, Mymenshingh, Netrokona and Shariotpur for violating the law. BSTI will continue its drive against weight manipulation and take legal action against the law-breakers.
