3 petroleum depot officials suspended

Three officials of three petroleum depots have been suspended on charge of supplying 3.10 lakh litres of fuel oil illegally to a foreign ship at Mongla port. They are Deputy Manager (Sales) Fazle Rabbi of Padma Petroleum, Deputy Manager G M Kamal of Jamuna Petroleum and Assistant Manager Abdullah bin Khalid of Meghna Petroleum. Besides, Deputy Manager of Padma Petroleum Moniruzzaman, Deputy Manager of Jamuna Petroleum G A Muhid, and Deputy Manager of Meghna Petroleum Mohammad Ejaj have been asked to show cause within seven days why departmental action should not be taken against them. According to a highly placed source of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), they were involved in supplying 252 thousand litres of furnace oil and 58 thousand litres of diesel illegally to foreign ship MV Priyanka on August 14 this year.
