BNP MP sues17 Jhenidah journos

BNP lawmaker from Jhenidah-3 constituency Shahidul Islam Master yesterday sued 17 local journalists for writing against him. He filed the case against the publishers, editors and the reporters of the national dailies Janakantha, Inqilab, Manabzamin, Amar Desh and Jessore based daily Gramer Kagoj, in the Cognizance Court of Jhenidah. The lawmaker accused them of "hurting his feelings" by publishing a report on August 29 in those dailies. Jessore Press Club President Fakir Shaukat and Secretary Zahid Hasan Tukun expressed deep concern at the filing of the case against the journalists. They demanded withdrawal of the case immediately.
