‘Execute verdict in Bangabandhu murder case’
RU Correspondent
Bangabandhu Parishad at Rajshahi University yesterday demanded execution of the verdict in Bangabandhu Murder Case and impartial prove into all grenade and bomb attacks including that of August 17. The demands were made at a meeting, held at Shahidullah Arts building with RU Bangabandhu Parishad President Prof Muklasur Rahman in the chair. The speakers said politics of killing and violence started in the country with the murder of Bangabandhu. Had Bangabandhu's killers been punished, there would not have been any more political killings in the country, they said. The incidents of violence including the bombings on August 17 and August 21 took place as Bangabandhu's killers were not punished. They expressed grave concern at the serial bomb blasts on August 17 across the country and said it is a threat to democracy and the country's sovereignty. Former state minister Zinnatunnesa Talukder said the August 17 incident should not be ignored by political parties and progressive forces.
