ICM anti-terrorism countrywide rallies on Sept 6,8

Islamic Constitution Movement (ICM) will hold anti-terrorism rallies and bring out processions across the country on September 6 and 8 protesting countrywide bomb blasts, including the August 17 serial bomb blasts.

At a press conference at ICM central office in the city, ICM Amir Syed Muhammad Fazlul Karim (Charmonair Pir) yesterday announced series of protest programmes including a mass procession in the capital on September 9 blaming BNP led four-party alliance government for the countrywide bomb and grenade attacks.

"We hate bomb culture, therefore we will hold rallies and bring out processions at all thana levels on September 6 and at all district levels on September 8 protesting all bomb attacks," Karim said.

He also said a vested quarter is carrying out bomb attacks killing progressive political leaders, civil society members and intellectuals pushing national security at stake.

Law and order has been deteriorating alarmingly as the ruling party men harbour criminals who are violating the rule of law and repressing common people across the country but the government still remains indifferent, he added.

ICM leaders Nurul Huda Fayaji, Prof ATM Hemayet Uddin and Mosaddek Billah were also present.
