The trial of Janakantha Journalist Shamsur Rahman murder case could not be held yesterday as no prosecution witness appeared for deposition, tribunal source said.The next date for hearing the case has been fixed on September 4. Selina Akhter Lucky, complainant of the case and wife of Shamsur Rahman, yesterday submitted a medical certificate to the judge of the Speedy Trial Tribunal showing the reason for her failure to appear before the court for deposition. Earlier, the court issued a warrant of arrest against her for failing to respond to the summons for deposition in the case. Lucky filed petition with judge of the tribunal to transfer the case to Jessore Judge's Court on security reason. She could not obtain permission from the higher court as directed by Judge Abdus Samad of the Speedy Trial Tribunal. Seven chargesheeted accused were present.
