Pallbi police recovered the body of Sheikh Ajmail Hossain Alvi, son of Sheikh Azad Hossain and a grade-4 student of MDC Model Institute, yesterday morning from the lake behind Bangabandhu College at Kalapani Shahidbagh.

Alvi had been missing since Tuesday morning, said his uncle Monwar Hossain. "We looked for him in all probable places but could not find him," he added.

He also alleged that unidentified miscreants strangled Alvi and dumped his body into the lake.

Local people said Alvi's father had a feud with one Haroon during a road construction work beside his house. Haroon's son also warned Azad of serious consequences, they added.

Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

His body was covered with mud, said morgue sources, but did not bear any injury mark. He might have been strangled, they said.
