Cabinet Division okays 500-strong ACC organogram
Bdnews, Dhaka
The cabinet division on Monday approved the organogram of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with 500 staff to run the commission. With the approval of the organogram and staff appointment, the anticrime watchdog hoped to run its activities fully by September 15, an ACC official told the news agency yesterday. The ACC, after passing an act in February last year, was established on November 24 the same year. But the commission has failed to start its anticrime operation due to slow pace of preparing its organogram. The cabinet division, of late, approved a temporary organogram for the commission following the constant pressure from the World Bank (WB). Though the commission's organogram is supposed to be drafted according to the article 30 of its act, it has failed to do that for indifferent attitude of the government, it is alleged. The commission will start its anticrime drive with 40 allegations filed with the now defunct Bureau of Anti- Corruption (Bac).
