Teletalk
Aminul Islam Suryasen Hall MSS, Economics, DU
At long last, the govt-made company Teletalk offered the mobile phone named Teletalk. I am one of its proud owners. Just immediately after getting it, I realised that the coveted mobile is not working according to my expectations. I failed many times to be connected with GP or Aktel. The telecommunication minister played to the gallery while narrating the Teletalk success story. What will we do with Teletalk if access to over 6 million phones is completely denied? The minister has long been harping on the fact that they are going to sign an interconnectivity agreement with the leading companies (i.e GP, Aktel, Citycell, Banglalink), very soon, but to no avail. Perhaps, the government has the adage "slow and steady wins the race" in its mind. But that is not expected of it.
