Elber won four Bundesliga titles and the 2001 Champions League crown in Bayern colours and is poised to face the reigning German champions in the first ever competitive match at the Allianz Arena.

"If I score I will tear all my clothes off and run accross the pitch completely naked - that is a promise," Elber told daily Bild. "It would be incredible to beat Bayern in their new stadium."

Elber was an icon at Bayern but his ex-team-mates are not in the charitable mood ahead of the 2005/06 season.

"I am still in touch with a lot of the players and Hasan Salihamidzic warned me: 'If you come on my side of the pitch you will regret it'. I am curious to see what happens!"
