Roads in bad shape

Repair and carpeting of roads and digging/construction of drains in Section No 13 of Uttara Model Town have been going on in full swing. Construction of buildings on almost 70 per cent plots has been completed and people have started living there. The other plots will not remain vacant for long if the present trend continues. It is expected that within a year or two the construction in the whole area will be complete.

But there is no drainage system as yet in the area. The roads are in deplorable condition. There are cracks, holes and stagnant water scattered on almost all roads. Road No 4 in particular is the worst affected and in hopeless condition. And no garbage cleaners are found anywhere near the sector. Life has become miserable in the absence of civic amenities.

But to our great surprise the municipality has already imposed taxes from July last year without extending the civic facilities to the dwellers of those houses.

Will it be too much to request for repair & carpeting of the roads, digging/constructing drains and clearing garbage and stagnant water for the convenience of all?
