Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain has urged the people to be united and start house to house campaign to save the country from the grip of criminals and black money holders."We can not leave this country with a few god fathers and criminals who have been plundering money and destroying the country's image abroad," Dr Kamal said while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion of Dhaka city unit of the Forum at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium yesterday. "People have to be united to be freed from godfathers and misrule. Otherwise, our traditional society, where people used to live with honour and dignity, will be ruined," he said. Referring to the "tremendous response" from the people to his call to be united against the misrule in the country, he said there is no reason to be frustrated as many political parties like 14 parties and eight parties have already agreed to stage united movement against the misrule. He called upon the young generation to follow the path of previous generations who fought for establishing justice and removal of autocratic rulers braving their lives. He also urged the people to get membership of the Gono Forum for practising healthy and progressive politics in the country. Dhaka city Awami League President Mohammad Hanif, who was present at the meeting, urged the people to start united movement against the misrule of four party alliance government for its immediate removal from the power. Presided over by Gono Forum Dhaka city unit President Mostafa Mohsim Montu, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by Shah Ahmed Badal, a leader of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, Saifuddin Ahmed Manik, and Abdur Rouf.
