Salman on his latest movie

What is common between Bollywood actor Salman Khan's debut film and his latest movie? Only a similar title. But Khan is pretty upbeat about his newest flick Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, directed by David Dhawan and starring former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, Katrina Kaif and Sohail Khan, features Salman in the role of a doctor who cons women into believing that he loves them but eludes the issue of marriage before he finally falls in love. The film is an adaptation of western movie Cactus Flower and the Hindi version is a "subtle romantic comedy," said Salman, busy with the promo of Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. Adds the actor: "It's a title which aptly captures the mood of the film. It's a hilarious film. I think there is so much sadness and depression in life that people should make more comedies." Despite his long journey in Bollywood, Salman cannot help being nostalgic about his debut movie. "I remember Maine Pyar Kiya because I used to practice for hours everyday to get a dance step right. I was that bad. In fact, coincidentally, the first job I took was as a dancer for a fashion show," recalls Salman. On his long stint in Hindi mainstream commercial cinema, he said "Every time you think you have learnt everything, God gives you a big whack." Although appearing in a comedy in his latest film, Salman rates Govinda as the "King of comedy." Sushmita Sen, who appears in the role of a nurse in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, said "It's fun working with Salman and sometimes we forget we're on the sets. He is one person whom I admire as he has lived life on his own terms." About her own life, the actress, basking in the success and rave review of her role in Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan starrer Main Hoon Na, says she has taken bold decisions early in her life. "At the age of 24, I chose to adopt a child and I don't regret the decision. I have been getting offers to do films I enjoy," maintains Sushmita.
