College teacher murdered in Rajshahi

A college teacher was murdered by the unidentified miscreants at Meherchandi under Matihar police station in the city on Saturday, police sources said yesterday.The victim was identified as Shariful Islam alias Sharif, 35, son of Shamsher Mondal, a teacher of Shayampurhat Degree College under Mohanpur upazila. Quoting his relatives police said, Sharif went out of his residence for his paternal home at Meherchandi in the early morning on Saturday but did not return since than. GRP police recovered the body of Sharif from near the railway line, adjacent to Rajshahi University campus, on Saturday night and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
