In a message of felicitation the president said: I hope that the ongoing cooperation in all areas of our bilateral relations will further contribute to stronger bonds of friendship between the two countries and closer contact between the peoples.

Khaleda in her message said: We appreciate the US assistance and support for the socio-economic development of the people of Bangladesh. I am confident that the ties of friendship between Bangladesh and USA will further grow in strength in future.
