Ronaldinho warns England

Ronaldinho has warned England that Brazil have the strike power to wipe out all opposition at the 2006 World Cup.

The Brazilian superstar was the man who ended England's dream in 2002 when he scored what was either a total fluke or a wonder-goal in the quarter-final.

His improbable long-range free-kick had David Seaman fumbling at thin air and saw England lose 2-1 after taking an early lead through Michael Owen.

Three years on and Brazil are still the team to beat, but they are grooming a whole set of new Galacticos - like Inter Milan forward Adriano and wonderkid Robinho - to make England's life a misery.

The Brazilians have such a frightening strike force that coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has to decide whether to recall former world player of the year Ronaldo after his replacements did so well in the Confederations Cup!

Adriano scored twice in a pulsating final as Brazil beat deadly rivals Argentina 4-1 on Wednesday - leaving Ronaldinho to lift the Cup.

"We have so many great strikers and every year Brazil will bring up a new great player," said Ronaldinho.

"Adriano is a fantastic goalscorer who is growing stronger all the time. We have so many good players and there are more coming through all the time."

"At every World Cup Brazil is one of the favourites and it will be the same this time."

Ronaldinho reckons the man who will dump England - and everyone else - out this time is Robinho. The 21-year-old Santos star looks to be on the brink of a move to Real Madrid.

"He is getting better and better with every game," said Ronal-dinho.

"People say he is one for the future but I think he has already arrived.

"It was important to do well in the Confederations Cup and you can see there are players coming through. It's not just Robinho and Adriano. Gilberto did well at left-back and Juninho Pernambucano and Cicinho, too.

"We're as confident as ever going into the next World Cup. And if we have to face England again we'll be ready, of course."

So if it comes down to an England-Brazil clash again in Germany, every fan of the Three Lions will hope that this time Ronaldinho doesn't get a huge slice of luck to add to his already phenomenal talent.

Even the Brazilian master himself admits that goal in 2002 was a complete fluke. Well - almost.

"I wanted to shoot in the left-hand side of the goal," he said.

"Maybe I hit it harder than I thought and as the goalkeeper was standing out in front of his line, it ended up going in behind him. It was better than I thought!"
