Students block highway at Palashbari

About 2000 students and teachers of different schools and colleges in Palashbari upazila yesterday barricaded the Dhaka-Dinajpur highway for an hour demanding trial of the murder of school student Plabon.Several hundred vehicles remained stranded on the road on both sides of the upazila headquarter due to the barricade. Rezbul Huq Plabon, a student of SM Pilot High School at Palashbari, was killed during a clash between activists of Jammat-e-Islami and BNP on June 14. Earlier yesterday, a protest meeting was held at upazila headquarter demanding trial of the killers. It was addressed by, among others, Prof Golam Mostafa, Abu Taleb, Monowarul Islam, Md Faruk. They demanded trial of the killing and arrest of the persons responsible.
