Bachchu left behind three sons and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

A three-time national marathon champion of then East Pakistan, Bachchu served as a sports reporter in many national dailies and also was the founder-president of the Chittagong chapter of the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA).

Mourning the death of Bachchu, BSJA in Dhaka prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy for the members of the bereaved family.
