Rab operation to continue in Moulvibazar

Operation by Rab (Rapid Action Battalion) will continue in different areas of Moulvibazar, according to Rab official Gulzar Uddin Ahmed. Two platoons comprising 50 members are in Srimangal since Sunday. Gulzar said they have information that more criminals engaged in smuggling in arms are in the area. Rab conducted some raids in the last two days but could not arrest any body. Besides, BDR has increased its strength in border areas in the district to check cross-border movement of criminals, he said. BDR Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Imamul Huda said the border belt is peaceful now. On May 27, BDR and Rab in a joint operation at Pura Bari in Kamalganj killed six persons and arrested eight more. Identity of the six could be known till the bodies were buried on Monday.
