The district administration recently gave a notice to the family regarding acquisition of lands from the southern side of the Satani House in Shatrapur area of Bogra town for construction the proposed 300 feet long and 40 feet wide road.

Some victims of the land acquisition including Bhola Sharder, Tafiz Sharder and Mohammed Golam Mostafa alleged at a recent press conference at Bogra Press Club that the administration in its land acquisition plan is saving houses of some ruling party leaders.

Members of Shatani family, who were present at the press conference claimed that they did not get proper compensation for their lands acquired earlier in Shatmata area for extension of Banani-Matidaly road. They claimed that the value of the acquired land was more than Tk one crore but they were given only Tk three lakh.

Earlier, lands were acquired from the western side of family house for extension of Banani-Matidali road in Bogra town.

Talking to the The Daily Star, members of Shatani family said their lands were acquired in different prime areas in Bogra town but were not properly compensated.
