BCB Green hit back


BCB Green thrived on three handsome half-centuries against BCB Red on the second day of the three-day trial match at BKSP yesterday.

Shamsur Rahman, Sahagir Hossain Pavel and Sakib Al Hasan helped Green team reach 275-5 in reply to Red's first innings total of 328.

Rahman and Pavel ensured a bright start as the openers contributed 82 runs for the first wicket before Pavel was caught by Mosharraf off spinner Nabil Samad, the most successful Reds bowler with 3-58.

Pavel hammered a 57-ball 53 that produced ten fours and a six while his partner Rahman added 78 from 118 deliveries with eleven hits to the fence and two over-boundaries.

The another half-century came from one-down Sakib Al Hasan who made 56 off 105 balls while Nazimuddin was the another notable scorer with 34.

Left-arm spinner Mosharraf took two for 52.

Earlier Alamgir Kabir took his overnight score of 35 to 57 not out and Shahin scored 90 as the Reds crossed the 300-run mark after resuming Day Two on 259-7.

Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak Raj took two more wickets to return with a fantastic 7-81.
