School student's murder protested

Several hundred students of Challisha Muktul Hossen High School, joined by their teachers and townspeople, brought out a procession at Netrakona on Saturday demanding arrest of the killers of school student Asadujjaman Kabir.

The processionists paraded the town streets, held a rally in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office and submitted a memorandum to the DC for arrest and punishment the killers.

Asaduzzaman Kabir, 14, a student of class nine of the school, was killed on April 24 in a land dispute at his village in the Sadar upazila.

A case was filed with Netrakona Police Station accusing 39 people. Police arrested five persons on the night of April 24.

The processionists chanted various slogans claiming that police action stopped abruptly following intervention by some influential quarters.
