Chris Gayle struck on the last ball before lunch as South Africa were 295 for 4 at the interval on the second day of the fourth and final Test against West Indies at Antigua on Saturday.

Herschelle Gibbs was the last man to go after making 23. Jacques Kallis was at the other end with 21.

Earlier, overnight centurions Graeme Smith and AB de Villiers fell on the same score of 245 after making 126 and 114 respectively.

Daren Powel and Tino Best were the other successful Caribbean bowlers.
