'Shakespeare Week' begins at AUB
To mark the 442nd birth anniversary of the great poet Shakespeare, the English department of Asian University of Bangladesh is hosting a programme titled 'Shakespeare Week'.The inauguration ceremony of the week-long event was held yesterday. Dhaka University Professors Syed Manzurool Islam and Fakrul Alam attended the event. Speakers recalled their first encounters with Shakespeare and discussed how their readings of his pieces had always yielded newer meanings. The discussion was followed by an exhibition, where a large number of his books were on display. The film 'Macbeth' was screened to end the day's event.
