Ericsson has sent a clarification of a news item titled 'Ericsson offers discount for telecoms operators in Bangladesh' published on this page on March 24. Ericsson said, "While Ericsson's low-cost solutions may lead to cost-savings of up to 20% to mobile service providers, it does not directly translate to a 'discount'." "As explained in our press release, the low-cost solutions range from the Ericsson Expander, Managed Capacity Solution to the cost-effective and efficient network roll-out and deployment services -- each of which offers differing advantages to the operator," said the clarification.
