Sangu gas field goes for test run
BDNEWS, Dhaka
Country's gas production for the first time crossed 1,500 million cubic feet mark when a new well of Sangu went for test run at 7:00pm yesterday. "With production of 30 million cubic feet from Sangu 5, country's total gas production reached at 1,505 million cubic feet," a Petrobangla official told the news agency. The test run will continue for 48 hours. Earlier, the country's gas production broke all previous records when Unocal went to produce 70 million cubic feet from Moulvibazar since March 21. Earlier, Cairn rose production by 30 million cubic feet from Sangu-4. Pertrobangla official said country's present daily gas demand is 1,433 million cubic feet. Only two months back, the production was 1,360 million cubic feet.
