A police team raided the house of Billal Hossain, a friend of Noman, at about 12:45am after Detective Branch (DB) confirmed that Billal was among those who beat the traffic constable.

Noman and his associates beat up traffic constable Abdul Majid on Manik Mia Avenue on Wednesday after he stopped the car of the lawmaker's son for defying the red signal.

Constable Majid suffered severe wounds in the forehead.

Noman is still evading arrest despite a massive hunt by the DB and police. Police watch has been beefed up in Jessore town and the village home of Noman in Benapole to arrest him, police said.
