Woman held with 21 dead fowls

Police yesterday nabbed a woman with 21 dead chickens she collected to feed her customers at a mess, six days into the arrest of a man in Mirpur with dead fowls.Acting on a tip off, a team of Sutrapur police raided the mess on Monir Hossain Lane at about 3:00pm and arrest its owner Jahanara Begum, 28. "Jahanara admitted that she used to serve her customers dead chickens," Sub-inspector Abdul Malek, who led the team, said. She might be produced before a Dhaka court today with remand prayer, police said. Earlier on March 28, Mirpur police arrested a man in Mirpur with 53 dead chickens, which he was allegedly going to supply to local restaurants.
