Drug peddlers attack cops, injure 3

Two policemen and an ansar were wounded when drug peddlers attacked them during a raid at a drug den on Agamashi Lane in old Dhaka's Kotwali area last night.

The gang attacked the joint team members with sticks and pelted brickbats at them when the law-enforcers were returning to Kotwali Police Station with 40 grams of seized heroin, a 500-taka and three 50-taka fake notes at about 9:00pm, police said.

The wounded are Sub-Inspector Aslam Hossain, Constable Ekram and special ansar Billal. They were given first aid at a local clinic. Police arrested 12 people from the spot after the incident.
