As Kaniz Fatima Nabila, 13, daughter of Nazrul Islam, was taking exercise with rope and ring tied from the ceiling fan, the rope got twisted around her neck and strangled her to death, police said.

The grade-eight student used to take exercise in the early hours with an aim to increase her height in her room on the third floor of her residence, police said quoting her parents.

Kafrul police recovered the body at 1:45am. A relative of the girl filed a UD case with the Mirpur Police Station.
