Indigenous youth beaten to death

A drug-addicted indigenous youth was beaten to death allegedly by his younger brother in the town. Ripon Chakma, 28, son of Arun Kumar Chakma, was rushed to Rangamati General Hospital at around 1:00am on Wednesday night with serious head injuries where he died in the early morning yesterday, hospital sources said. Sources close to the victim's family said Ripon's younger brother Bitu Chakma, also an addict, beat him severely following an altercation between them on Wednesday night.
