Members of the committee at their 16th meeting at the Sangsad Bhaban yesterday decided to hold an 'exchange of views session' with the Land Commission to expedite its activities, an official handout said.

They also discussed the overall situation in the CHT region and directed concerned authorities to take more steps towards improving the condition.

The meeting was presided over by the committee chairman, Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain.

Committee members Deputy Minister on CHT Affairs Moni Swapan Dewan, Mohammad Mojibur Rahman, Shahjahan Chowdhury, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Mostafa Kamal Pasha and Wadud Bhuiyan attended the meeting.

Earlier, the members expressed deep shock at the death of Alhaj Shamsuddin Ahmed Eshak, MP, and former minister AM Zahir Uddin Khan. They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed their sympathies to the members of the bereaved families.

Acting Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs Mohammad Shahjahan Majumder and concerned officials were also present.
