Chittagong Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge M Hasan Imam yesterday fixed the date for the verdict.

Advocate Ahsanul Haque Hena stood for the plaintiff and advocate Ferdous Ahmed, advocate Salauddin Haider, advocate Manjur Ahmed took part in the hearing for the defendant. Kamrul Islam Sazzad conducted the case on behalf of the state.

Former chairman of Chittagong port and managing director of Korean Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Commodore (Rtd) Golam Rabbani was seriously injured in a brushfire on April 11, 2004. He succumbed to his injuries in a hospital of Bangkok.

Police submitted charge sheet accusing 8 in the case. Of them, six accused, including former director of the Korean EPZ engineer Abu Naser Chowdhury, are in the jail. The two others are still at large.
