2 teenage sisters kidnapped, raped in Tangail

Two teenage sisters were abducted by a gang of miscreants from their house at village Basakhanpur in Sadar upazila on Sunday night and raped them, police and victims' family sources said.The criminals entered the house breaking open the door at midnight and took the girls aged about 14 and 17 to a banana orchard about one km away from their house and violated them. Following complaints by the victims' mother, local UP member Abu Raihan informed it to the Sadar police station over cell phone. On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the girls from the banana garden at about 2.00am. The girls gave their statement to the first class magistrate court after medical test. Police arrested four youths -- Julhas, Sirazul, Alamgir and Shahadat -- in connection with the incident.
