Photojournalist assaulted

A gang of hoodlums allegedly led by a police informant assaulted a photojournalist at Demra in the capital yesterday.The injured was identified as Shajahan, 42, a photojournalist of the weekly Aparadh Bichitra, and resident of South Jatrabari. Shajahan told reporters that police informant Ashraf of Demra Police Station along with several others beat him with iron rods at around 11:30am at North Jatrabari. He is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
