Bhomra port paralysed again

Export-import through Bhomra land port was suspended yesterday, as Indian C&F Agents Association stopped their activities to protest Border Security Force (BSF) actions.

Earlier, the BSF yesterday prevented Indian clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents at Shojadanga land port from crossing the border, sources said.

The C&F agents in protest against the move resisted trucks laden with goods entering Bangladesh, causing the stalemate from the morning.

Export-import here was earlier suspended during January 19-30 for reconstruction of 11-km-long Barirhat-Shojadanga road.
