Construction worker shot

A construction worker was shot and injured at the city's Eskaton Garden Road yesterday morning.The victim, Belal, 29, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where his condition was stated to be critical. Police said some local extortionists fired on Belal at about 9:30am as he refused to give them toll they had been demanding for the last three days. "Two bullets hit his right arm and wrist," said a witness.
