Her mother suspects the rapist and his associates might be involved in the barbaric act.

Daughter of a farmer of Tetulia village at Dhamrai, the 13-year-old girl was sleeping in her house at approximately 10:30am when unknown men threw flammable liquid on her through a window and set fire to her.

"Hearing her cry, I rushed to her room and found her yelling with fire burning all over her body," said her uncle, adding that the assailants fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to a local clinic and was later shifted in the afternoon to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
