Badruddoza says govt failed to ensure safety

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President Badruddoza Chowdhury yesterday said the present government has totally failed to ensure security to the lives of people.

"No government in the country after its independence was as failed as the present one," he said during his visit to Shah AMS Kibria's Dhanmondi residence.

Condemning the killings of Shah AMS Kibria and four others, Badruddoza said he had a very good relationship with the late leader who was very honest and dedicated to politics.

Badruddoza handed over a book with 2000 signatures that BDB collected yesterday at its central office in Segunbagicha.

"No one in the country is safe today, as the government has failed to protect an honest man like my husband who had no enemies," Asma Kibria said.

"I want to see the perpetrators of my husband punished before my death and our family will form a movement for that purpose," she said.

"This is not a political fight, but a peaceful movement and I want support from all of you, not mere sympathy.
