Pulse worth over Tk 8 lakh looted in city

Robbers looted 440 sacks of pulses worth over Tk 8 lakh from a truck on a city street at Dhanmondi early hours of yesterday.

A gang of about six robbers put up barricade by a truck to stop the pulse-loaded truck in front of the Mansur Bhaban at Elephant Road at about 2:00am.

The criminals stabbed driver Khalil, 37, and his helper Minhaj, 28, and took the load to their truck. The injured took first aid at a local clinic.

The goods bought from Chapainawabganj were being taken to Rahmatganj in the old city.

Owner of the pulses AKM Anwar Kamal filed a case with Dhanmondi Police Station in this connection. Police could not recover the looted goods till 8:30 last night.
